Minuty

Belonging to the Matton-Farnet family for over 80 years, Chateau Minuty is a family-run wine estate located in France’s Provence region overlooking the St. Tropez peninsula.

Gabriel Farnet acquired the Chateau Minuty winery in 1936 which at the time was producing wine under the label De L’Oratoire. Painstaking work was carried out on the renovation of the winery and total replanting of vineyards bringing the estate back to its pre-second world war glory. Gabriel Farnet’s daughter Monique and her husband Etienne Matton, the then President of the Cru Classe Board continued the replanting of local grape varietals such as Tibouren, Rolle, and Grenache, keeping yields low, ensuring the highest quality of wines, and solidifying Chateau Minuty’s reputation and presence in the finest restaurants on the French Riviera. Today, the winery is run by Jean-Ettienne and Francois Matton who have continued to leave their mark by the continued restructuring of the vineyard and streamlining the winery into a modern state of the art facility.

Producing Rose wines from Grenache and Tibouren – the emblematic varietal of the St. Tropez peninsula, Reds from Syrah and Mouvedre, and Whites from Rolle, Chateau Minuty produces their Estate wines under the labels ‘281’ and Rose et Or, their emblematic wines under the Prestige label and their long-established pleasurable wines under the ‘M’ range. Premier Cru’s long-established relationship with the Matton-Farnet family brings us great joy in showcasing Chateau Minuty as our winery of the month for February 2021. Fresh, elegant, and full of finesse, make Chateau Minuty your winery of choice this February!
